The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) announced the addition of a Digital Twinning page to its official website iga.gov.bh. The move underscores Bahrain’s continued leadership in digital transformation and its commitment to knowledge sharing and digital capacity-building at regional and international levels through innovative government practices. It comes as part of the iGA’s efforts towards achieving the Government’s directives and helps strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a regional and global hub for digital excellence.
The Digital Twinning page serves as a central platform for the exchange of digital expertise between Bahrain and participating countries and organizations. It enables government entities, international bodies, and partners to explore the initiative’s objectives, cooperation methodologies, and successful pilot projects. The page also provides details on how to join the Digital Twinning Program, encouraging visitors to benefit from Bahrain’s digital experience to accelerate digital transformation efforts in their countries and the quality and efficiency of their government services.
This initiative is part of the Global Digital Twinning for eGovernment Excellence program, which Bahrain launched through the iGA on a pilot basis in December 2024. It aims to strengthen bilateral and multilateral digital cooperation with countries that have expressed interest, such as the Republic of Tunisia and the Union of the Comoros. It focuses on developing digital infrastructure, enhancing the standard of government services, and sharing best practices in line with leading global benchmarks, including United Nations digital government standards. The program covers joint advisory tools, projects, hands-on labs, simulations of digital service scenarios, and performance tracking to ensure transparency and effective knowledge exchange among participants.
The initiative builds on Bahrain’s longstanding record of international digital cooperation dating back to 2008, during which the Kingdom welcomed delegations and global organizations from several countries to learn about its eGovernment experience and exchange digital policies and standards. This legacy reflects Bahrain’s commitment to digital innovation and reinforces its role as a hub for regional and global collaboration in digital transformation, as well as a source of digital knowledge and expertise for partner nations.
The iGA invites all government entities, international organizations, and innovation-driven partners to visit the Digital Twinning page at iga.gov.bh to explore collaboration opportunities, support digital transformation initiatives, contribute to building a sustainable global network of digital partnerships that highlights Bahrain’s leadership in digital innovation, and supports the dissemination of digital knowledge and expertise on a global scale.
